We are very proactive when we place our homeless pets. We make sure that the animal is a perfect companion for the home that is applying. We do not adopt on a first come, first serve basis but rather to the perfect match.
If multiple families are interested in an animal we will review each application to determine the best fit for the animal.
We strongly suggest you bring any other animals you may have to interact with the new animal to make sure they get along and reduce returned adoptions.
All applications must be approved before the adoption which may take a couple days. Certain breeds also require yard and fence checks before an adoption is allowed.
No pet can be adopted until it is spayed or neutered. If the surgery has not been scheduled then PAHS will make the appointment and transport the animal to the vet. The new owners then may pick up the animal from the vet when the surgery is done.
